On Friday 3 February 2017 between 10am and 1pm at the Auckland Museum a black Mitsubishi Outlander had its rear window smashed and a black bag containing an iPad, jewelry and a Patek Philippe watch stolen.

There is a $7000 cash reward for the recovery of the property and/or information leading to the arrest of the offender.

An All Blacks security consultant, who was identified as the man charged over bugging the team's Sydney hotel room last year, reportedly spent time with three star All Blacks at Guns N' Roses' Auckland concert on Saturday.

When You Ring 111, A New System Will Let Emergency Services Track Your Location

Emergency services will automatically trace the locations of 111 callers under new rules set to be put in place by the Privacy Commissioner.
Call centres for police, fire and St John Ambulance were previously able to request the information from telecommunications company, but the process was slow and manual.

Under the new rules, emergency responders will be able to quickly track the locations of callers without going to the telco.

New Zealand Ranked Least Corrupt Country In The World

New Zealand is ranked the least corrupt country in the world in a new report, jumping three places from last year.
The annual Corruption Perceptions Index by Transparency International gave New Zealand a score of 90 out of 100 for 2016, ranking it alongside Denmark in top spot.
Last year it ranked fourth with a rating of 88 after previously heading the league table.

The index ranks 176 countries on a scale of zero to 100. Somalia is at the bottom of the list, scoring just 10.

First Tongan-Born Judge In NZ Sworn In

An overflowing courtroom in Auckland was told this evening they were witnessing history as the first Tongan-born judge in New Zealand was sworn in.
Judge Mina Wharepouri is the first Tongan judge to serve overseas, but even in Tonga there's only one Tongan-born judge, on the Court of Appeal.

It's hard to imagine Judge Wharepouri as the young boy whose grades at Otahuhu College weren't good enough to get into law school. Now he's a District Court judge.

Man Charged For Threatening Ex-Partner On Facebook

A man who threatened to kill his ex-partner on Facebook is the latest person to be charged under the Harmful Digital Communications Act.
Regan Zane Tebbutt, 18, posted a series of threatening messages on Facebook after the couple broke up in May.

Police said the pair became involved in a conversation on Facebook between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on June 28.

Tebbutt, of Blenheim, told the woman she was going to be killed, that he had nothing to lose and the police would not be able to stop him.

Man Jailed For Underage Revenge Porn Facebook Post

A Hamilton man who secretly filmed a 16-year-old female friend having sex with him and later uploaded the footage to Facebook has been jailed for a year.The man - who cannot be named without leading to the identification of his victim - was 19 at the time of his offending in January last year and is now 20.

The Hamilton District Court was told the victim had come to the defendant's family home on January 12, where they twice engaged in consensual sex.

However on the second occasion the man secretly filmed them on his cellphone.
